To kick things off for 2026, we have a meeting on Sunday 15 February at 4pm at the Chambers.
This will be a short meeting to give members a feel for what the Society is doing and what is coming up, followed by a presentation on William Jolly, Windsor’s last Mayor and Brisbane City Council’s first Mayor and Lord Mayor.
William Jolly CMG
William Alfred Jolly CMG was an Australian politician who was the Mayor of the Town of Windsor from 1918 to 1923, the first Lord Mayor of Brisbane from 1925 to 1931, and a member of the Australian Parliament for the Division of Lilley from 1937 to 1943.
